Day 1

Day 1 started off on a slow pace due to delay in installation and distribution of the requisite software. The installation of the software Android Studio took the whole time. There were some large files which took time to download and net was also not at its best speed. The workshop was wound up by 5:15 pm, closing the day with almost all the peers getting their softwares ready.

Day 2

Day 2 started with basic of the software Android Studio. We showed people how to handle layouts / views which display on the screen. We showed interactive UI designs such as Toasts and Snackbars to display some information. We even started with the click of buttons via the introduction of a game Tap It. The session ended with the students getting an overall touch of how to handle the various aspects of the software.

Day 3

Day 3 was meant to complete the Tap It game. We completed a basic game and the students seemed delighted finishing it. They reviewed that they were till then in sync with the look and feel of developing basic applications. We even integrated a module in which whatever is typed on the screen is voiced by the app. The students tested this feature using different languages like US English, UK English etc. This feature was taught by Arjun Kashyap.

Day 4

Google Maps API (Application Package Interface) was introduced this day. The students integrated this feature in their applications and handled the various aspects involved with it. We ended the day by giving some tips to the peers and telling them the future prospects in this field.
A formal conclusion and vote of thanks by Nicky Matthew followed, and the participants were asked for constructive feedback. Several videos were recorded and photographs taken. The workshop was concluded at 5:30 pm on 28th July.
